Which HR practice is the most appreciated by your employees?

The SmartWorking @Wavestone initiative. It is a firmwide initiative which aims to reinvent our working methods beyond the simple face-to-face/remote mix, to improve our efficiency, our quality of life at work and our life balance.

This project’s main objective is to create additional ways to work for our employees so they may reach an optimal work-life balance by lending them ever greater flexibility. This balance is a critical wellbeing parameter for Wavestone’s management and HR team.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that our employees are fulfilled in both their professional and personal lives.

Please give an example of how one of your values has been put into practice on a daily basis?

At Wavestone, our values drive our actions, particularly in our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

We believe in being a responsible corporate citizen and actively supporting projects with significant social impact. One way we embody this value on a daily basis, is through our dedication to community-centric projects.

For instance, as part of our CSR approach, Wavestone Luxembourg organizes an annual event known as Powerday, our firm’s global solidarity day. During the most recent edition in 2023, held on September 1st, our office came together to volunteer a full day of support for five non-profit organizations: La Trace, Médecins Sans Frontières, Soportunity, Kriibskrank Kanner, and SOS Faim.

This initiative exemplifies our commitment to making a positive difference in the community beyond our consultancy assignments.

By actively engaging in initiatives like Powerday, we demonstrate our dedication to fostering social responsibility and contributing to meaningful causes.

What do you do to build employee loyalty?

At Wavestone, we employ several strategies to build and maintain employee loyalty.

One key approach is through investing in professional development opportunities. For example, we offer regular training sessions, and mentorship programs to help our employees enhance their skills and grow within the company. Additionally, we cultivate a positive work environment where open communication and feedback are encouraged. For instance, we have regular team and management meetings where employees can voice their opinions, share ideas, and provide feedback on company initiatives.

This ensures that everyone feels valued and heard, contributing to a sense of belonging and loyalty.

Furthermore, we launch individual meetings with employees, led by managers and the HR team.

This initiative aims at re-connecting employees with decision-makers and ensuring their desires and opinions are taken into consideration. Each meeting is offered to the employee on a voluntary basis and is an occasion to discuss topics not usually covered, identify potential needs or concerns, and implement corresponding action plans.

Several employees have benefited from such meetings throughout 2023, leading to changes in projects, embarking on new internal initiatives, or pursuing training to acquire new knowledge.

Overall, by investing in professional development, recognizing achievements, fostering open communication, and conducting individual meetings with employees, we strive to build strong bonds and ensure that our employees feel valued, respected, and motivated to stay and grow with Wavestone.

What soft skills do you look for the most in your candidates?
